Latifa
FOUNDER
When I was young and I first started to notice hair on my own body I tried waxing a few times and was very disappointed. Hairs were left behind and the hygiene seemed very questionable - the wax with people's hair on it was re-used!
My mother taught me how to use sugar and lemon juice to remove unwanted hair in the same way her mother had taught her.
It was very effective and I took to it immediately.
When I came from my birthplace in Tunisia to the UK in 1988 I realised many women shaved and so had very unattractive regrowth and many ingrowing hairs.
I started sugaring for my friends at home, then at other people's homes and finally in 2010 I started Mabrouka Sugaring and set up my first Salon in Brixton.
In 2013 we moved into the more spacious and comfortable premises a few doors down at number 183 Ferndale Road where we're still based.
When she was young!
